Torrevieja promenade and beach.  You cannot stay in La Mata and not visit Torrevieja. Lots and lots to see. Give yourself a full day to explore, North, South, Central and don't forget the Port. Once visited you will go back. There are many promenade bars/restaurants, shops, market stalls, fun fair. A real busy place. Market day is Friday. The biggest market on the Costa Blanca. A word of warning as to visiting any market. Watch your purse and wallet, haggle for prices or you will pay over the odds. Don't play the game 'find the pea under a cup or shell. You will lose your money. Don't fall for any scams.
